she said "I'm a NEW Christian!"

When I started working at FCS, I thought it would be easy and problem free. Go to work, ring in some books pick up a pay check that would be it.

Well, I found out rather quickly that the job isn't as easy as I thought, it is never trouble free, it's more than just selling a couple of books to people (it's personal) and the paycheck......well, it's small and it doesn't amount to the lessons I have learned while working there. All walks of life come into that store, but let me share with you the girl I had the pleasure of meeting last night.

I heard the bell letting me know that someone had just come in. As I turned to greet my guest, I saw this young girl walking very quickly toward me beaming from ear to ear. As she put her purse on the register she leaned in close, still beaming and says, "I am a NEW Christian! I am leaving for college and I NEED a Bible. Something I can study, something I can write in. I really need a Bible!"

Being the same age as this fresh new Christian girl, Helen walked her to the back to show her our display of Bibles. Watching this girl follow Helen to the Bible wall, it was like she was floating on air. She was completely captivated by the love of our Lord and Savior. She got it. She knew what this "Jesus thing" was all about. She was taking everything we said in like a sponge. She couldn't get enough of it, get enough of Jesus.

Do you remember being like that? Do you still have that fire that passion that drive and that desire? There are two things that have impressed with this girl, Jessica. Her thirst for knowledge being one. And she is young! It is so refreshing to see young people excepting Christ! Think about it people, these people are our future. Although she is not much younger than I am. I am paving the way for her, she is paving the way for generations behind her. And personally, I want those people to be Christians that yearn to know Jesus.

I wish I could have captured her in a jar. It was the presence of Jesus, radiating through her. It makes me think back to the Old Testament. Remember the story? Moses had spent so much time in the presence of God that when he came out from the tent, his glow was so bright they had to shield him from the rest of the people. That was her. Beaming and glowing with the very presence of God before me.

It was amazing. It was a thrill. To put a Bible in the hands of a person that truly wanted to know about our Lord. It was rewarding to know that I was there for that.
